Last away trip of the season and, popping into the tattiest little chef imaginable for a coffee I bump into a Darlington fan. Can't believe we went there on the first day of the season so full of confidence- They'll be two divisions higher than us in August!

  • Little Raises The Bar - So what's going on with our away form? It's a bit early to be concerned, but the contrast is pretty graphic: a hundred percent record at home, but we've claimed just twenty-two percent of the points available away from home, and we'll do well to improve that percentage at Salisbury! After all, they're going well and appear to be a higher grade, more extreme version of what Altrincham were; organised and physical. And full time of course. Last Monday was our first taste of action against a... Read Little Raises The Bar at Marks Wrexham FC Blog...
  • Fixture Delight! - There might not be a game on Saturday, but does this weekend marks a watershed in our season already? I'm not being daft; I know nothing is decided at this point of the season, and the drive back to Rushden reminded me to be cautious. You can't listen to a procession of twits on radio phone-ins handing the title to Chelsea and writing Manchester United off after one game without being reminded that nothing is won in August. However, I do think we're already reached a key juncture in our... Read Fixture Delight! at Marks Wrexham FC Blog...

  • Sums it up really - A nice little microcosm of our season that. Asian Little had to clear out a lot of dead wood but he couldn't do the full job in such a short time scale and this afternoon put it in a nutshell: it's not the youngsters or the new arrivals but the senior pros who aren't recent arrivals who let us down. • Tremendous News! - Surprising but terrific news-Carl Tremarco stays! I didn't expect that to be the case for a moment, but it's a heck of a boost as we look forward to our step into the unknown. I think it's fair to say that if Tremarco didn't have the injury record that he has then he would never have ended up with us in the first place. He's a good full back, full of energy and positive intent, and if he can stay on the pitch he'll be a huge asset, no question. However, his injuries were surely the reason that... Read Tremendous...
  • Are you a cup half full person or… - Not sure what to make of tomorrow's referee. Andy D'urso certainly has plenty of experience, but Premiership refs tend to act like buffoons when they slum it with us. On the positice side, the last time he reffed us was for a huge away derby win as we sought to evade relegation to the Conference; last season's 1-0 win at Shrewsbury. On the other hand, he's just had a nightmare week; he sent off Stoke's Andy Griffin, a decision which was rescinded after D'Urso'd seen the match video. Then in... • Happy Days? - Click here to see Thursday's Papers The media's packed full of positive news today! Hope it isn't a false dawn. It's an odd feeling isn't it? I can't help feeling positive, after all, our performances have picked up enormously, yet a glance at the table tells a totally different story. I don't mean our position; that's the residue of the first half of the season, when we were literally a different team. It's the gap between us and safety that scares me. We seem to be the most consistent side... Read Happy Days? at Marks Wrexham FC Blog...
