Well this is the closest these two season ticket holders will get to a match today! And right now Wrexham are kicking off just twenty miles away!

  • What’s Twenty Miles Between Friends? - Brentford's perhaps my favourite away trip-a nice journey down on the train, then pop into one or two of the pubs at the corners of Griffin Park. WIth Roberts, Whitley and Sonner back in the squad, Saturday's a very interesting trip! And I won't be making it! Rather inconsiderately, my lad has decided to have his tenth birthday on Saturday! And it's not as if I haven't brought him up right-he's a season ticket holder!!!!! So while Wrexham battle for survival at Brentford I'll be a... • A Good Reason To Avoid The Conference - I must be a visual learner as a thread on Red Passion moved me to make the rather dodgy home made map you can see above. The black dots show the teams that would be in The Conference next season if the season ended today and the second placed teams won the play-offs. We'll certainly be racking up the miles, although I suppose London Reds will get a chance to see a few more games!!! The red dots are the sides in the relegation places-typically the only sides that are fairly local are going... Read A Good Reason To Avoid...
  • Squad Confusion - Or maybe my last post is miles off the mark. There seems to be no consensus over what the actual squad is today; the official site's story is what I referred to below, but in the Daily Post Mark Currie appears to know the starting eleven, and it is totally different! It sort of sums up where the club is at that we can't even agree on a squad list! Read Squad Confusion at Marks Wrexham FC Blog...
  • We Might Go Up A Place!! - I know it's a touch desperate, but we might go up a place in the Conference without kicking a ball! The season starts here! Alright, I'll drop the sarcasm, but there could be real upheaval in the table if Mansfield are docked points for fielding an ineligible player in Aaron O'Connor. They gained eight points in the games he played before the matter was addressed, so if the usual precedent is followed they'd lose them and the table would look like this. However, an interesting article in Non... Read We Might Go Up A Place!! at Marks Wrexham FC Blog...

  • Allen Shines Again - Having seen his superb debut on Tuesday it was interesting to ahve a second look at Joe Allen in the Wales-England Under-21 game tonight. Admittedly he came on with only about twenty minutes left, but again he showed enough spark, movement and intelligence to suggest he's much too good for the Conference. Let's hope we can keep him for a while longer; after all, the postponement of the Histon game robs us of his services for a match unless we can rearrange it while he's still with us... • Stability? - Here's a sign of how unsettled Wrexham have been over the last couple of years; in the last four games against Chester we've used thirty-five different players! With plenty more in line to make their derby debuts tomorrow, the figure could look even more remarkable in twenty-four hours time. It should come as no surprise though, as we equalled the club record for most players used in a season last time round and are only one player short of equalling that figure in this campaign!
